You must be over 21 and held a license for a minimum of 4 years.

Your license should be free of endorsements (certain allowances may be made)

You must not have a criminal record. The DSA have introduced a criminal history check for all applicants. The DSA will also check all existing ADI’s with a criminal history check 

You must pass three exams comprising of a theory test,

a driving test and a test of Instructional ability.

You must have your name entered on the register of approved driving instructors.
